E.C. Comments on BlogTalkRadio Show; “Sexual Freedom in China”

First, thank you for the e-mail regarding BlogTalkRadio. I enjoyed listening to you and the other woman on the program, but can hardly hear Stephen? I do not know where Stephen was visiting in China, but I have never seen the “Sexual Freedom…” in the 6 years I have been visiting. What he describes as the openness of sex in the 5-star hotels is really prostitution and the girls are being exploited. I have a close personal friend who was a beauty operator and massage girl (never a “Sex-girl”). Chen Qing had to work 16 to 18 hours a day 7 days most weeks to make the small wage of $375 a month. I have experienced hotel massage girls and some offer sex as well as massage, and while massage outside the hotels is abundant and cheap, inside the hotels massage is not cheap and sex is expensive.

I believe Stephen is living in a fantasy world. Prostitution is illegal in China and westerners who engage with a sex girl can and do spend time in Chinese jails. I imagine it would not be a pretty scene to be caught engaging in sex with a Chinese prostitute, because the police would be brutal; you would not know what is happening as most westerners do not speak the language and punishment would also be brutal as the Chinese courts would be making an example of the offender. There is a lot of corruption in China and the police do often look the other way, or are bribed. I dread the thought of being arrested for any crime in China and especially being arrested for prostitution.

My Chinese family is much like Americans were when I was a 19 year-old young man some 50 years ago. No sex before marriage, period. Sex is more open than it was 30 years ago with some college kids and young adults, but it is still a taboo subject for most Chinese boys and girls. Chinese boys do not pressure girls for sex and I believe it is because the Chinese look at sex in an entirely different way than westerners. My wife loves sex with me and loves orgasms often, but would not have a lover or even miss sex when I am not there.

Thanks again, and I still wish to attend some of your workshops. When you visit China next year it would be an honor for me to offer lodging or guiding around Shanghai. I will call you my cousin and it will be okay for you to stay in our home as long as we are related.

Steve Writes About Our Recent BlogTalkRadio Broadcast…

Dear Amara,
I was excited about the tantra broadcast this evening regarding male ejaculation - I’ve gotten a lot of different messages during the 3 years or so that I’ve been studying tantra, so I was looking forward to the teachings and debate.

My own experience is that I’m able to delay ejaculation, but that if I do it too much I get “blueballs”, get sensitive in unpleasant ways. So I orgasm sometimes. The most wonderful thing I’ve found when I don’t orgasm with a partner is how wonderfully cuddly I feel towards her afterwards. I’ve only been able to have non-ejaculatory orgasms a couple times, in the 3 years I’ve been practicing.

I was really grateful that you made your different perspective clear. You’re so much more grounded and compassionate.
